My suggestion would be the SPG Amex purely because when I signed up to it, I got a promotion on my account for two free night certificates for two stays at any Marriott hotel. I stayed at the Moxy in London excel for just £49pn twice and then received the two certificates promptly.

Just last year. I haven't heard anyone else being offered such a reward so I'm assuming it just be targeted only towards younger people like me. Currently they've given me an offer for 18,000 points after 3 stays.

    Very nice - 18k isn't a bad bonus either.

AMEX is re-running its best offer where you can get, for a limited time only, a whopping 80,000 points for Platinum Card and an astonishing 35,000 points for Gold card if you apply via my referral link. In my opinion that’s an offer that should not be missed!

Just click here and make sure that all cookies are allowed: TBC

The main characteristics of each card:

    Gold Card
    • 1 MR point per £1 spent
    • £10 monthly deliveroo credit
    • Priority Pass access for 4 visits in any lounge globally
    • Every time you spend £5,000 you will get 2,500 bonus Membership Rewards points, up to 12,500 bonus points per year. With 1x point you get for every £1 spend plus the bonus Membership Rewards points - you could get up to 1.5 points for every £1 you spend
    • 40,000 sign-up points when you spend £3k in 3 months
    • No annual fee for the first year. £195 from year 2, cancellable and refundable pro-rata
    Platinum Card
    • 1 MR point per £1 spent
    • £200 UK restaurant credit + £200 non-UK restaurant credit per year
    • £50 Harvey Nichols credit
    • Unlimited Priority Pass access for 4 people globally
    • 100,000 sign-up points when you spend £10k in 6 months
    • £650 annual fee, cancellable and refundable pro-rata
Furthermore, you can also use my referral link above to apply for any other card. For instance: BA Premium Plus 33000 points (and the invaluable 241 companion voucher), Rewards Card 20000 points, BA Free card 15000 avios, Marriott Bonvoy 63000 Bonvoy points, Cashback Credit Card £40, Nectar card 23000 points. Additionally, you can use my referral link to get 80000 points for Platinum Business Card and 40000 points for Gold Business Card; go to the upper left corner, "Filter Cards" and choose "Business Cards".

And a reminder that... the right time to apply for any of those two cards (Gold/Platinum) is now as it’s almost certain that it won’t get any better than that!
